Had to send our son to a private christian school despite the fact we live within walking distance to this school. Its a shame. I spent a full day with my son bc things had gotten so bad and i can see why he was stryggling. Only one teacher had structure and he was making an A. He got in his first fight here, was offered drugs and was constantly being harrassed ti join a gang. Kids and most teachers are horrible! Disappointed for such an affluent neighborhood. My other son will not attend this school.

This school is terrorible! The education is one of the worst in Greensboro. The school is mainly made up of mean, rich kids who think that they are better than everyone else.

I'm very disappointed in this school. If I had of known that my child would be going to a school with trouble makers and kids who don't care about their grades I would have found a better school district for my child. My child is an advanced learner but is being influenced by the bad kids in this school. Not to mention the teachers aren't willing to help the children one on one, if they need it. The overall EOG scores are super low for this school. What does that say about the quality of education my child is getting. I'm not at all happy with this school. I'm considering moving to a district where my child will go to a better school or private school.

Finally got my child into this school, as it is the best public school in this entire area. The teachers are pretty slack. As far as the 'inner-city'feeling its nothing compared to all the rest of the middle schools in greensboro. Guildford county has never had very good schools in my 45 years in and out of this area.

my child is in 6th grade and this is our first year here from the midwest. We were not prepared for the strong 'inner-city' feeling that is in this affluent area school. The building itself is rundown and unpleasant (I didn't feel safe going to the bathroom). We receive progress rep approx every 6 wks from all classes & she is aceing all of them-this with almost no homework all year, and she has been an average student elsewhere. She has, however, had 3 assignments in which she has had to bake 100-150 cookies for class. Most of our problems have been on the bus.The principal says we should take this up w/transpotation not her. This is not an environment we want her in and I don't know that she could tell you anything she's learned this year.We will be homeschooling next year.

Lots of potential but no guidance or order. My daughter has brought me audio recordings of cursing, fights, and disorder that the prinicpal said they would not stand for! Great speech - bad follow up!After the 1st 9 weeks, my daughter, who has competed nationally in literature and science contests, received her first C and D in these subjects. Her previous interim reports had all A's and B's. We received no warning, indication, or anything from ANY of her teachers. In fact, we got no communication from them. After a week of phone tag with the administration, a teacher called to say we could work something out. I am a stay at home mother. What about the other parents who can't come by to 'work something out'? To date, no response from administration!

Not very organized. Hardly any teacher/parent communication. After nearly 12 weeks in school, all my 6th grade child's teachers have shown up for class on the same day 3 times. Often they have to go into another class where they watch movies or color. My child is in Advanced Learning.

I love this school. My daughter is an 8th grader and we are going to miss the closeness of the staff, parents and students when she moves to High school. There are over 30 PTA parents who welcome all the parent involvement that is offerd. Please get involved and see what a great school MMS really is.
